Cadillac Eldorado 12th Gen

The 12th generation Eldorado, produced from 1992 to 2002, was the final chapter for Cadillac's iconic personal luxury coupe. It represented a major styling evolution from its blocky predecessor, adopting a smoother, more aerodynamic form. The car's centerpiece was the new Northstar V8, a DOHC, 32-valve engine that gave the Eldorado Touring Coupe (ETC) model a potent 295 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful front-wheel-drive cars of its era.

Collectors are primarily interested in this generation because it's the last of the Eldorados. The 2002 Collector Series, produced in a limited run of 1,596 units, are the most sought-after. These cars were available in just two colors, Alpine White and Aztec Red, and featured a numbered plaque on the dash. The high-performance ETC models are also favored over the standard coupes for their extra power and more sophisticated suspension.

The market for these cars remains very accessible, with an average price just over $10,000. This reflects the large number of higher-mileage examples that are treated simply as used cars. However, the top of the market shows a different story, with low-mileage Collector Series models selling for up to $55,000. As 90s cars gain appreciation, these final Eldorados are slowly transitioning from used luxury cars into recognized modern classics.
