Frequently Asked Questions

Do live car auction fees change for online bidding?

Sometimes. Mecum and Barrett-Jackson publish higher vehicle buyer premiums for internet, telephone, or proxy bids than for in-person bids. Other houses publish one vehicle premium across bid channels for the U.S. events covered here.

Does the calculator include seller commission?

Only when a complete standard seller schedule is publicly available. Live-auction consignment commissions, entry fees, transport, photography, and other terms are often event-specific or negotiated, so this page labels seller proceeds as variable instead of estimating them.

What is included in the buyer total?

The estimate includes the winning bid and the published vehicle buyer premium. It excludes taxes, title and registration costs, shipping, storage, financing, optional services, and lot-specific charges.
