Cadillac Eldorado 6th Gen

The sixth-generation Eldorado, produced from 1963 to 1966, was Cadillac's ultimate personal luxury statement. Sharing its basic structure with the DeVille, the Eldorado distinguished itself with unique styling, a standard convertible body, and a higher level of standard equipment. These cars featured clean, slab-sided bodywork penned by GM's design chief Bill Mitchell, with power initially coming from a 340 hp 390 cubic-inch V8, later upgraded to a 429 cubic-inch V8 for 1964.

Collectors appreciate the sixth-gen Eldorado for its combination of elegant styling, top-down cruising capability, and V8 power. As the last of the rear-wheel-drive Eldorado convertibles before the model's major FWD redesign in 1967, it holds a special place for purists. With production numbers much lower than other Cadillac models of the era, they offer a degree of exclusivity. The market today is highly dependent on condition, with a significant gap between tired examples and immaculately restored cars, reflected in an average sale price around $38,000.

Prices range from around $2,500 for major projects to over $110,000 for immaculate, concours-level examples.
