The QV's name comes from the new 4-valve cylinder heads fitted to its 5.2L V12, boosting output to 455 hp in European-spec carbureted form. To accommodate the six massive downdraft Weber carburetors, the engine cover was given a distinctive power bulge, creating an even more aggressive profile than its LP500 S predecessor. For the US market, Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection was used to meet emissions regulations, resulting in a slightly lower output of 420 hp.
