The Mercedes-Benz W188 was the company's flagship model during the 1950s, available as the 300 S and later the fuel-injected 300 Sc. Offered in Coupé, Cabriolet, and Roadster forms, it was hand-built on a shortened W186 chassis and shared its 3.0-liter inline-6 engine. With a price tag higher than the 300 SL Gullwing, it represented the peak of post-war German luxury and engineering.

Collectors prize the W188 for its extreme rarity and exceptional craftsmanship. Total production was just 760 units across all body styles, with only 200 of the more powerful 300 Sc models ever made.
