Pontiac Firebird 4th Gen

The fourth and final generation of the Pontiac Firebird launched for the 1993 model year on a revised F-body platform. It featured dramatic, aerodynamic styling and initially came with a choice of a 3.4L V6 or the 275 hp 5.7L LT1 V8 in Formula and Trans Am trims. A mid-cycle refresh in 1998 brought even more aggressive front-end styling and, more importantly, the all-aluminum 305 hp 5.7L LS1 V8, an engine that transformed the car's performance and aftermarket potential.

Collectors prize the post-1998 cars with the LS1 engine, particularly the high-performance Trans Am and Formula models equipped with the WS6 Ram Air Performance and Handling Package. The WS6 package added functional hood scoops, a freer-flowing exhaust, and an upgraded suspension, boosting output to 320 hp.
