Volkswagen created the Mk4 R32 as the ultimate expression of its fourth-generation Golf platform. For the 2004 model year, VW of America imported 5,000 units, each equipped with a 3.2L 24-valve VR6 engine, a 6-speed manual transmission, and a Haldex-based 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The R32 wasn't just about its drivetrain; it also featured aggressive model-specific bodywork, 18-inch Aristo alloy wheels, larger brakes, and deeply bolstered König sport seats inside.

The R32's appeal comes from its unique combination of analog feel and sophisticated hardware.
