Summary
This 1951 Simca 8 Sport Cabriolet was reportedly purchased new by racer and journalist John Bentley, who is believed to have raced it at the Sebring 6 Hours in 1950. The fifth owner acquired the car in non-running condition in 2012 and subsequently rebuilt its 1,221cc inline-four, dual Solex carburetors, and four-speed manual transmission, along with servicing the brakes. Originally black, the car was repainted white in 1953 and shows approximately 25,000 miles, having won a class award in the 2020 Petersen Virtual Concours.
