Aston Martin Virage & V8 & Vantage

Introduced in 1989, the Aston Martin Virage was the company's first new model in nearly 20 years, replacing the long-running V8 models. It retained a Tadek Marek-designed V8 but featured new 32-valve cylinder heads developed with Callaway Engineering, initially producing 330 hp. The Virage combined traditional hand-built construction with more modern, albeit heavy, styling and served as the company's flagship model into the Ford ownership era.

The Virage platform spawned several important and collectible variants. Aston Martin's Works Service offered a popular 6.3-litre engine conversion that substantially increased power. The line's ultimate expression arrived in 1993 with the V8 Vantage, a separate model featuring a wide body and a twin-supercharged V8 producing 550 hp. These rare and powerful Vantage models, along with the later V600 versions, are the most desirable for collectors.

The market for these cars is quite broad. Standard Virage coupes represent a relatively affordable entry into hand-built Aston Martin ownership, with prices reflecting their condition and history. The twin-supercharged V8 Vantage commands a significant premium, sitting at the top of the market. With only 1,050 cars produced across all variants, exclusivity is a key factor in their value.
