- Many CJ-7s have been modified. Scrutinize the quality of any suspension lifts, engine swaps, and wiring, as poor workmanship can be expensive to fix.
- Leaks from the engine, transmission, and differentials are common. Determine if they are minor seeps or signs of a major failure.
