The first-generation Pontiac Firebird arrived in February 1967, sharing GM's F-body platform with its sibling, the Chevrolet Camaro. Pontiac distinguished its pony car with unique styling, including an integrated front bumper, and a lineup of its own engines. Unlike the Camaro, the Firebird's base engine was a sophisticated 230 cubic inch overhead-cam inline-6, while V8 options ranged from a 326 to the potent 400 Ram Air.
