The NSX Type S was the final chapter for Acura's second-generation hybrid supercar, produced exclusively for the 2022 model year. Acura built only 350 units globally, with 300 earmarked for the United States, instantly guaranteeing its collectible status. The car wasn't just a trim package; it was a significant performance upgrade developed by the same engineers behind the NSX GT3 Evo race car.

Compared to the standard NC1 NSX, the Type S boasts 600 hp and 492 lb-ft of torque thanks to larger turbochargers, increased battery capacity, and revised engine tuning. It also features a faster-shifting 9-speed dual-clutch transmission, unique suspension tuning, and more aggressive aerodynamics. The most sought-after examples are equipped with the $13,000 Lightweight Package, which adds carbon ceramic brakes and various carbon fiber components.

The market for the Type S started strong and has remained that way. Immediately after launch, cars began trading for significant premiums over the original $171,495 MSRP. With an average sale price around $247,000, collectors have shown they are willing to pay for the exclusivity and enhanced performance of this final-edition model. The highest prices are paid for cars with the Lightweight Package in desirable colors like the limited Gotham Gray matte metallic.

Prices for the NSX Type S range from around $193,000 to as high as $385,000 for top-spec examples.
