Audi Allroad

The Audi Allroad first appeared in North America for the 2001 model year. Based on the C5 A6 Avant, it featured a height-adjustable air suspension, a wider track, and unpainted bumpers, creating a new segment of rugged luxury wagons. Early models were powered by a 2.7L twin-turbo V6, with a 4.2L V8 added later. After a brief absence, the Allroad returned in 2013, this time based on the smaller A4 platform.

Collectors and enthusiasts specifically seek out the original C5 generation, particularly the rare 6-speed manual and 4.2L V8 variants. These cars offer a unique combination of wagon practicality, quattro all-wheel drive confidence, and surprising off-road capability that set them apart from contemporary SUVs. The adjustable suspension, while a known maintenance item, is central to its dual-purpose appeal.
