Austin-Healey 100-6

The Austin-Healey 100-6 succeeded the original 4-cylinder 100 in 1956. It introduced a longer wheelbase to fit small rear seats in the BN4 2+2 model and debuted the BMC C-Series 2.6L inline-6 engine. Early cars were noted for being less powerful than the outgoing model, but a revised 6-port cylinder head in 1957 boosted output from 102 to 117 horsepower.

Collectors appreciate the 100-6 as the first of the six-cylinder "Big Healeys," offering a classic British roadster experience for less money than the later 3000 models. The two-seat BN6, produced from 1958, is rarer and often more sought-after by purists than the more common BN4 2+2.
