The Chevrolet Biscayne served as the brand's entry-level full-size car from 1958 to 1972. Positioned below the Bel Air and Impala, it offered basic transportation with minimal trim and amenities, making it a favorite for fleet sales like police departments and taxi companies. It was available in two-door, four-door, and station wagon body styles, but its simple, lightweight construction made it an ideal candidate for modification.

Collectors prize the Biscayne for its sleeper potential. As the lightest full-size Chevy, it became a legend on the drag strip, especially when optioned with a big-block V8. Cars equipped with the 409, L72 427, or the ultra-rare L89 aluminum-head 427 are the most desirable. These purpose-built racers, often in the rigid two-door sedan "post" body style, represent the pinnacle of Biscayne collectibility.

The market for Biscaynes is diverse. Base six-cylinder sedans can be found for very low prices, often serving as affordable entry points into the classic car hobby. However, documented factory big-block cars, especially those with racing provenance, command significant premiums.
