Chevrolet SSR

The Chevrolet SSR (Super Sport Roadster) was a unique factory custom that combined a retro-styled pickup with a retractable hardtop convertible. Produced from 2003 to 2006, it was built on the same platform as the Trailblazer SUV. Early models used a 300 horsepower 5.3L V8, but the truck's performance didn't quite match its aggressive looks.

Collectors strongly prefer the 2005 and 2006 models. These later SSRs received the 6.0L LS2 V8 from the C6 Corvette, boosting output to 390 horsepower, and offered an optional 6-speed manual transmission. With just under 24,200 total units built, and far fewer equipped with the LS2 and manual gearbox, rarity is a key driver of value. The final production year, 2006, is especially sought-after.

Today, the SSR market is mature, with an average sale price around $27,500. It's a niche vehicle with a dedicated following. The most desirable manual LS2 examples command prices approaching $50,000, while earlier automatic trucks represent a more affordable entry point into this distinctive corner of modern collecting.

Prices range from around $9,900 for early, higher-mileage examples to $47,000 for top-spec, low-mileage LS2 models.
