Buying Tips
- Prioritize 2005-2006 models for the more powerful 6.0L LS2 V8. The optional 6-speed manual transmission is the most desirable configuration and commands a significant premium.
- Thoroughly test the retractable hardtop mechanism through several cycles. It's a complex system, and repairs to the hydraulic pumps or sensors can be expensive.
- Check for a cracked dashboard top, which is a very common issue caused by sun exposure. Also, inspect the carpet in the bed area for signs of water leaks from failed seals.
- Look for wear on front suspension components. The SSR uses a unique front suspension setup, and some replacement parts can be difficult to source.
