The Chrysler 300 story is really two different tales. It began in 1955 with the C-300, a powerful coupe featuring a 300 hp Hemi V8 that dominated NASCAR. This kicked off the legendary 'Letter Series,' a run of high-performance luxury cars that lasted until 1965, establishing the 300 as a benchmark for American performance.

After a long absence, Chrysler revived the nameplate for 2005 on the rear-wheel-drive LX platform. With bold styling and the return of a Hemi V8 option, the new 300 was a massive success. Collectors gravitate toward two distinct eras: the rare and valuable 1955-1965 Letter Series cars, and the modern, high-performance SRT8 and 300C variants, especially the limited-production 2023 300C with its 6.4L V8.

The market reflects this split personality. Early Letter Series cars, particularly convertibles, are blue-chip collectibles that command top dollar at auction. Modern 300s are mostly affordable used cars, but demand is growing for well-preserved, low-mileage SRT8s and the final edition 2023 models, which are seen as future classics.
