The Chrysler TC by Maserati was a joint venture between Lee Iacocca and Alejandro de Tomaso, intended to blend Italian luxury with American engineering. Based on a modified Chrysler Q-platform, the car featured a body built in Milan, Italy, and a hand-stitched leather interior by Poltrona Frau. Despite its upscale ambitions, the TC's resemblance to the less expensive Chrysler LeBaron and its high price tag led to a short production run of just 7,300 units from 1989 to 1991.
