The Dodge Avenger nameplate covers two distinct vehicles. The first generation, sold from 1995 to 2000, was a 2-door coupe built on the same Diamond-Star Motors platform as the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talon. After a hiatus, the Avenger returned from 2008 to 2014 as a 4-door sedan based on Chrysler's JS platform, sharing its architecture with the Chrysler Sebring.

The collector market for the Avenger is extremely niche and defined by a massive price spread. The vast majority of sales are for second-generation sedans trading as affordable used cars. The market average of $9,868 and the top sale of $71,500 are heavily skewed by a single transaction for what was likely a NASCAR race car. Without this outlier, prices reflect a heavily depreciated consumer vehicle.

Enthusiast interest is minimal but focused. Fans of 90s imports may seek out a first-gen coupe, particularly the rare V6 all-wheel-drive variant. For the sedan, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 in the R/T models provides solid performance for the money, but these cars haven't yet found a collector following. Most Avengers on the market are simply inexpensive daily transportation.
