Dodge Caliber

The Dodge Caliber arrived for the 2007 model year as a replacement for the popular Neon. It was a 5-door hatchback with crossover-like styling, built on a platform shared with the Jeep Compass and Patriot. While base models received criticism for their cheap interiors and underwhelming performance from the naturally aspirated engines, Dodge also created a high-performance variant that carried the torch from the Neon SRT-4.

The only Caliber with any real collector interest is the SRT4. It packed a turbocharged 2.4L inline-4 engine that produced an impressive 285 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, all sent through the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. It was a serious performance bargain in its day, offering blistering straight-line acceleration that could challenge more expensive sports cars. These are the cars that enthusiasts seek out today.

The market for the Caliber is extremely polarized. Standard models with the 1.8L, 2.0L, or 2.4L engines are simply inexpensive used cars, often trading for less than $5,000. The high end of the market is reserved exclusively for pristine, low-mileage Caliber SRT4 examples. With very few transactions on record, the market is thin, but the data clearly shows a massive price difference between a base Caliber and a collectible SRT4.

Prices range from as little as $310 for project cars to $27,500 for low-mileage SRT4 variants.
