Dodge Challenger 3rd Gen

The third-generation Dodge Challenger made a huge impact when it debuted for the 2008 model year, bringing back one of Mopar's most iconic nameplates. Its styling was a faithful tribute to the 1970 E-body original, built on a modern LX platform shared with the Charger and Chrysler 300. Initially launched as the SRT8 with a 6.1L Hemi V8, the lineup quickly expanded to include V6 and 5.7L Hemi R/T models, making modern muscle accessible to a wide audience.

Collector interest is strongest for the high-horsepower special editions that defined the Challenger's production run. The 707-hp Hellcat, introduced in 2015, started an arms race that led to the Hellcat Redeye, the drag-strip-focused Demon, and the Super Stock. These models, especially the ultra-limited 2018 Demon, are modern blue-chip collectibles. Manual transmission cars, particularly in Scat Pack and Hellcat trims, are also highly sought after by enthusiasts.

The market for the 3rd-gen Challenger is incredibly broad, reflecting its 15-year production span and dozens of variants. Early SXT and R/T models are affordable and plentiful, often serving as daily drivers. Mid-range Scat Packs offer the best performance-per-dollar value. At the top, pristine, low-mileage Hellcats, Redeyes, and Demons trade for significant premiums, with prices for the latter frequently exceeding $150,000. With production ending in 2023, values for all well-kept examples are expected to remain strong.
