The Ford Edge debuted in 2007 as a mid-size crossover, filling the gap between the smaller Escape and the larger Explorer. Built on the same CD3 platform as the Ford Fusion, it offered car-like handling with SUV utility. A second generation arrived for 2015 with updated styling, a new platform shared with the second-gen Fusion, and more advanced technology, including the improved SYNC 3 infotainment system.

The Edge is not a collector vehicle; it's a practical used crossover. Its market is driven by depreciation, condition, and utility rather than enthusiast demand. The only models with any hint of future interest are the performance variants. The first-gen Sport featured a 3.5L V6, while the second-gen Sport received a 2.7L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 with 315 horsepower. Market values for the Edge are typical for a mass-market vehicle. The lowest prices reflect early, high-mileage, or mechanically needy examples, while the top of the market consists of recent, low-mileage ST and Titanium models. For buyers seeking a powerful and practical daily driver, the Sport and ST models offer a compelling package, but they don't command a collector's premium.
