Ford GT40

The Ford GT40 was born from Ford's failed attempt to buy Ferrari in the early 1960s. Henry Ford II, spurned by Enzo Ferrari, initiated a program to beat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The result was the GT40, a V8-powered endurance racer that achieved its goal, winning Le Mans 4 consecutive times from 1966 to 1969 and cementing its place in motorsport history.
