Ford Ranchero

Ford launched the Ranchero in 1957, creating the 'coupe utility' segment in the US 2 years before Chevrolet's El Camino. Initially based on the full-size Fairlane, it offered car-like comfort with a usable pickup bed. Over its seven generations, the Ranchero shifted platforms from the compact Falcon to the mid-size Torino and LTD II, ending production in 1979.

Collectors are drawn to the Ranchero for its unique style and versatility. High-performance variants, especially the GT models with big-block V8s like the 429 Cobra Jet, are the most desirable. The first-generation 1957-1959 models are also highly prized for their classic 50s styling, while the Falcon-based models offer a more compact entry into the classic scene.
