Honda Civic 9th Gen

The 9th generation Civic, launched for 2012, was met with a lukewarm reception due to its conservative styling and cost-cutting measures. In an unusual move, Honda performed an emergency refresh on the sedan for 2013, with the coupe following in 2014. These updates brought revised styling, better interior materials, and refined suspension tuning, making the later models more desirable.

For collectors, the focus is almost exclusively on the Si models. Equipped with the torquey 2.4-liter K24Z7 engine, the 9th gen Si was the last to feature a naturally aspirated engine, a significant milestone for enthusiasts. While base models are plentiful and treated as simple used cars, clean, unmodified Si examples are becoming harder to find and are the only ones with emerging collectibility.

The market for these cars is defined by a split between high-volume commuter cars and niche enthusiast models. The average sale price of around $5,500 reflects the abundance of base LX and EX trims. The top of the market, approaching $14,000, is reserved for low-mileage, well-maintained Si coupes and sedans from 2013-2015.

Prices range from under $2,000 for high-mileage examples to around $14,000 for pristine Si variants.
