Lexus SC400

Introduced for the 1992 model year, the Lexus SC400 was a statement piece for Toyota's fledgling luxury brand. Designed at the Calty studio in California, its smooth, ovoid shape was a departure from the hard-edged designs of the 1980s. Underneath, it shared a rear-wheel-drive platform with the JZA80 Supra, but the SC400's mission was luxury touring, not outright sport. Its heart was the 4.0L 1UZ-FE V8, an engine celebrated for its incredible refinement and durability, producing 250 hp.
