The Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class filled a unique spot in the lineup, offering E-Class styling on a C-Class platform. Produced over two generations (C208/A208 and C209/A209), it was the brand's mid-size coupe and convertible, slotting between the smaller SLK and the larger CL. The first generation established the formula, while the second refined it with improved dynamics and more powerful engines.

Collectors gravitate towards the high-performance AMG variants. While standard V6 and V8 models are plentiful, the limited-production models drive the market's high end. The CLK 63 AMG Black Series, with its 500 hp V8 and DTM-inspired bodywork, is a modern classic. Even rarer is the CLK DTM AMG, a street-legal race car with just 100 coupes and 80 convertibles built, making it one of the most desirable Mercedes of its era.

The CLK market is extremely broad. Non-AMG models are very affordable, often trading for less than $15,000, making them an accessible entry into Mercedes ownership. Early CLK 55 AMG models offer strong performance for the price. However, the market average of $26,398 is heavily skewed by the six- and seven-figure sales of the Black Series and DTM AMG, which represent the pinnacle of CLK collectibility.
