Mercedes-Benz X253/C253 GLC

Introduced for the 2016 model year, the GLC (X253) replaced the boxy and popular GLK. Based on the W205 C-Class sedan, the GLC adopted a much softer, more contemporary design language and a more luxurious interior. It was offered as a traditional SUV and a fastback 'Coupe' (C253), with the GLC 300 and its 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 serving as the volume seller alongside potent AMG GLC 43 and GLC 63 variants.

The GLC isn't a traditional collector's car yet; it's a heavily depreciated modern luxury vehicle. Buyers are drawn to the opportunity to own a comfortable, feature-rich, and practical SUV with the three-pointed star for a fraction of its original sticker price. While the V8-powered GLC 63 holds the most long-term enthusiast appeal, the market is currently dominated by early, higher-mileage GLC 300 models.

With an average sale price under $15,000 for 2016-2020 models, the market data shows that the earliest examples offer a compelling value proposition. These transactions focus almost exclusively on non-AMG variants, where condition, mileage, and service history are the primary drivers of price. The extremely low observed prices suggest that salvage-title or non-running parts cars are also part of the sales mix.
