The Nissan Bluebird nameplate spans decades, but for collectors, it's synonymous with one specific model: the 510 series, sold from 1968 to 1973. Marketed in the U.S. as the Datsun 510, it earned a reputation as the "poor man's BMW 2002" for its lightweight chassis, 4-wheel independent suspension, and overhead-cam L-series engine. Its success in SCCA Trans-Am racing with Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE) cemented its legendary status and created a loyal following.

Today, the 510 remains the most sought-after Bluebird generation. Collectors prize the 2-door sedan for its clean lines and racing pedigree, with the wagon and 4-door sedan also having dedicated fans. Finding an unmodified, rust-free example is the biggest challenge, as many were raced, modified, or simply succumbed to corrosion over the years.
