Buying Tips
- Check for rust, especially in the front and rear strut towers, inner sills, and around the rear window seals. Water can pool in these areas.
- Inspect the RB-series engine for oil leaks, particularly from the rocker covers and front main seal. On GT-R models, the stock oil pump drive collar is a known weak point on modified engines.
- Test the HICAS four-wheel steering system if equipped. Look for fluid leaks from the power steering rack and rear steering rack. Many owners install a delete kit to simplify maintenance.
- Most R32s have been modified. Favor cars with high-quality parts and documented history. Reversing cheap or extensive modifications can be very costly.
- On GT-Rs, verify the ATTESA E-TS system is working. Under hard acceleration on a loose surface, you should feel the front wheels engage. Check that the 4WD warning light isn't illuminated.
