Saab 9-5 2nd Gen

The second-generation Saab 9-5, known as the YS3G, represents the final chapter in the Swedish automaker's history. Launched for the 2010 model year after a long development under GM ownership, its production was cut short by Saab's bankruptcy in 2011. Based on the GM Epsilon II platform, it featured distinctive Scandinavian design, including the signature wraparound cockpit and a full-width rear light bar that made it unmistakable.

Collectors are drawn to the 9-5 for its rarity and its status as the brand's last new model. Fewer than 12,000 sedans were built, and the ultra-rare SportCombi wagon never reached full production, with only about 30 examples escaping the factory. Top-tier Aero XWD models with the 300 hp 2.8L turbo V6 are the most sought-after, offering advanced all-wheel drive and a full suite of tech for the era.

The market for these cars is defined by a wide gap between daily drivers and collector-grade examples. While high-mileage cars can be found for very little, the best low-mileage Aero models are seeing steady appreciation. Its orphan status means certain parts, particularly body panels and specific modules, are difficult to source, placing a premium on well-preserved, complete cars.

Observed prices range from under $1,000 for project cars to more than $25,000 for pristine, low-mileage Aero models.
