- A common failure point is the supplementary accessory drive shaft (SADS) which powers accessories at the front. Listen for rattling or vibrations from under the vehicle, which can signal failing bearings.
- The complex cooling system has long pipes running the length of the vehicle. Check the lines for corrosion and leaks, and ask if the difficult-to-access 'Hose of Hell' has ever been replaced to prevent overheating.
- Rust can be an issue, especially around the wheel arches, rocker panels, and on the underbody chassis rails.
