The Willys-Overland CJ-3A arrived in 1949 as a direct update to the first civilian Jeep, the CJ-2A. The most notable upgrade was a one-piece windshield with a vent, but it also received a stronger Spicer 44 rear axle. It kept the reliable 134 cubic inch L-head 'Go Devil' 4-cylinder engine and T-90 3-speed manual transmission.
