BMW Z3 Coupe

Born from a desire to increase the Z3 roadster's chassis rigidity, the Z3 Coupe was a passion project developed by a small team of BMW engineers. Its distinctive 'clown shoe' shooting brake design wasn't for everyone, which resulted in low production numbers compared to its convertible sibling. The non-M coupe was offered with two excellent inline-6 engines: a 193-hp 2.8-liter M52TU from 1999-2000 and a more powerful 225-hp 3.0-liter M54 for 2001-2002.

The Z3 Coupe's appeal lies in its rarity, unique styling, and improved driving dynamics. The fixed roof creates a much stiffer structure, making it a more focused driver's car than the roadster. Collectors appreciate its practicality, with the hatchback offering usable luggage space. Its quirky status has helped it cultivate a dedicated following that's distinct from the mainstream M car crowd.

The market clearly favors the later 3.0-liter models, which command a significant premium for their extra power and refinement.
