The Dodge Durango debuted for 1998 as a rugged, body-on-frame SUV based on the Dakota pickup. It offered V8 power and three-row seating, a combination that proved popular. The second generation continued this formula, but the model truly hit its stride with the third generation in 2011, which moved to a unibody platform shared with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, improving its on-road manners significantly.

Collector interest is almost entirely focused on the high-performance third-generation models. The introduction of the SRT 392 with its 475 hp 6.4L V8 established the Durango as a muscle SUV. The ultimate version is the SRT Hellcat, which packs a 710 hp supercharged 6.2L V8. Originally planned as a single-year model for 2021, its immense popularity prompted Dodge to bring it back for limited runs, securing its status as a future classic.

The current market is extremely broad. Early, high-mileage examples can be found for just a few hundred dollars, serving as utilitarian vehicles. The bulk of transactions involve mid-range SXT, GT, and R/T models from the last decade. At the top end, low-mileage SRT Hellcats consistently trade for sums approaching or exceeding their original MSRP, demonstrating strong demand from performance enthusiasts.

Prices range from as little as $305 for early project vehicles to $105,000 for top-spec SRT Hellcat editions.
