Dodge Durango 3rd Gen

Launched for the 2011 model year, the third-generation Durango represented a major change, moving from a truck-based, body-on-frame design to a unibody platform shared with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This switch provided a more refined ride with fully independent suspension, better interior space, and improved handling. Initial engine choices were the 3.6L Pentastar V6 and the 5.7L Hemi V8, with an 8-speed automatic becoming standard in 2014.

The Durango's core appeal is its blend of family-hauling practicality and muscle car character. While V6 models are competent people-movers, enthusiasts seek out the V8-powered versions, especially the R/T, the 475-hp SRT 392 introduced in 2018, and the limited-run SRT Hellcat. The Hellcat, with its 710-hp supercharged V8, was an instant collectible due to its extreme performance and limited production for the 2021 model year, with a brief return for 2023-2024.

The market for these SUVs is extremely broad. The average sale price of around $18,000 is driven by the huge volume of non-SRT models from the 2011-2018 model years. Early, high-mileage V6 and R/T models can be found for under $10,000, while late-model, low-mileage SRT 392s and especially the SRT Hellcats occupy the top of the market, with prices often exceeding $55,000.

Prices for sold examples have ranged from $2,075 for early models to $55,900 for late-model, high-performance variants.
