Ford Super Duty 3rd Gen

Ford launched the third-generation Super Duty for the 2011 model year, marking a significant update. The exterior featured a massive new grille and taller hood, but the biggest news was under it. Ford replaced the Navistar-supplied diesel with its own in-house 6.7L Power Stroke V8, nicknamed the 'Scorpion'. A new 6.2L 'Boss' gasoline V8 also became the standard engine, both paired with a new 6R140 TorqShift 6-speed automatic transmission.

The market for these trucks is driven by their capability and improved reliability, especially the 6.7L Power Stroke, which fixed many of the issues that plagued the previous 6.4L. Buyers look for these trucks for towing, work, and even daily driving, thanks to creature comforts found in Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims. Well-maintained, lower-mileage diesel models are particularly sought after and retain their value well.

With an average sale price around $20,000, the market has a huge spread. The low end consists of high-mileage 2-wheel drive gas models used for commercial work. The high end is dominated by pristine, low-mileage Power Stroke trucks in top trims or specialized examples like highly modified SEMA builds, which explains transactions reaching over $200,000.

Prices range from under $10,000 for high-mileage work trucks to over $275,000 for pristine or heavily modified examples.
