Honda ST90

Honda introduced the ST90 in 1973 as a bigger, more street-focused sibling to the wildly popular CT70. Built on a similar pressed-steel T-bone frame, it featured a larger 89cc overhead-cam single-cylinder engine and a 3-speed semi-automatic transmission. Unlike the dual-range gearbox on many CT models, the ST90's setup was simpler and better suited for pavement, though it retained a rugged, go-anywhere look.

The ST90's appeal to collectors comes from its relative rarity. It was only produced for 3 model years, from 1973 to 1975, and didn't sell in the same massive numbers as the smaller 50cc and 70cc bikes. This scarcity, combined with its classic Honda minibike charm, makes clean, original examples highly sought after. They offer a bit more power and road presence than a CT70, making them more usable for around-town trips.

The market for ST90s is strong, with restored or exceptional low-mileage bikes fetching premium prices. The average sale price hovers around $3,800, but top-tier examples have sold for over $7,000. Project bikes can be found for under $2,000, but restoring one can be costly as certain ST90-specific parts are harder to source than components for more common models.

Prices range from approximately $1,600 for project bikes to over $7,400 for concours-quality examples.
