Lancia Delta

The Lancia Delta started life in 1979 as a practical hatchback designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. It wasn't until the Group B rally era that the car transformed into a legend. To compete in the World Rally Championship, Lancia created the Delta HF 4WD and subsequent Integrale models, which featured all-wheel drive and turbocharged engines. These homologation specials went on to win 6 consecutive WRC manufacturers' titles between 1987 and 1992, cementing the Delta's place in motorsport history.

Collectors almost exclusively chase the high-performance Integrale variants. The car's boxy, flared fenders, rally heritage, and raw driving dynamics make it an icon of the late 80s and early 90s. The most desirable versions are the later Evoluzione I and Evoluzione II models, which feature wider tracks and more power. Limited editions like the Martini 5, Martini 6, and Final Edition are the holy grails for serious collectors, often commanding the highest prices.

The market for the Delta Integrale is mature and well-established. While early 8V and 16V models offer a more accessible entry point, values climb steeply for the later Evo cars. With an average sale price over $71,000, the market clearly favors well-documented, original examples. Project cars or base models can be found for much less, but the investment required for a proper restoration is significant.
