The Mercedes-Benz C-Class debuted in 1993, replacing the beloved 190E (W201) as the brand's compact executive car. Spanning six generations, it has been a cornerstone of the Mercedes lineup, offered as a sedan, coupe, convertible, and wagon. The C-Class consistently blended the luxury and engineering of its larger siblings, like the E-Class and S-Class, into a more accessible and dynamic package.

Collectors focus almost exclusively on the high-performance AMG models. The W204 C 63 AMG (2008-2015) is a modern icon, prized for its hand-built, naturally aspirated 6.2-liter M156 V8 engine. Limited production variants like the Black Series and Edition 507 are the most sought-after. Earlier models, such as the W202 C 36 and C 43 AMG, are also gaining traction as affordable, V8-powered modern classics.

The C-Class market is incredibly broad, with 952 recent sales showing its high volume. The average price of $24,496 is heavily skewed by late-model, non-AMG variants which make up the bulk of transactions. While standard models continue to depreciate, well-maintained and rare AMG models, especially the W204 C 63 Black Series, are holding their value and have become true collector's items.
