Ferrari Mondial

The Ferrari Mondial, produced from 1980 to 1993, is the company's last mid-engine 2+2 model. Early Mondial 8 versions were criticized for soft performance from their 205-hp V8s, but the car steadily improved through Quattrovalvole (QV), 3.2, and finally the Mondial t generations, which introduced a more powerful, longitudinally mounted engine.

For a long time, the Mondial was considered an overlooked entry point into Ferrari ownership, but its status is rising. Collectors are drawn to its unique combination of a mid-mounted V8, seating for 4, and the availability of a cabriolet body style. It's a practical classic Ferrari that's easier to live with than many of its two-seat stablemates, especially in later 3.2 and t specification.

The market for the Mondial remains one of the most accessible in the classic Ferrari world, with an average price of $48,362. Values are firming up as appreciation for the model grows and prices for other 1980s Ferraris climb. Late-model Mondial t examples, especially manual cabriolets, command the highest prices, while early Mondial 8 coupes are the most affordable.
