Mazda B Series

Mazda's B-Series pickups have a long history in North America, prized for their simple engineering and workhorse reliability. Early models, particularly the Rotary Engine Pickup (REPU) from the mid-1970s, are unique and highly sought after. Generations sold through 1993 were Mazda-built, while later models from 1994 onward were badge-engineered versions of the Ford Ranger, sharing most components.

Collectors are primarily drawn to the Mazda-built trucks from the 1980s and early 1990s. These models were at the heart of the 'mini-truckin'' customization scene and represent a bygone era of compact, honest pickups. Their simple mechanicals make them easy to work on, and finding clean, unmodified examples is becoming increasingly difficult, which drives values up.

The market for the B-Series is broad, with an average price of around $12,211. The wide sale range shows a clear split between well-worn work trucks at the bottom and pristine, low-mileage survivors or rare REPUs at the top. The best examples, especially from the 1980s, are seeing steady appreciation.
