Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra began in 1978 as a longer, more powerful version of the Celica, known as the Celica XX. It wasn't until the third generation (A70) in 1986 that the Supra became its own distinct model. However, it's the fourth-generation (A80) model, produced from 1993 to 2002, that cemented the car's legendary status. Its timeless design and the famed 2JZ-GTE twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine made it an instant icon.

The A80 Supra's collectibility is driven by its starring role in pop culture, particularly "The Fast and the Furious," and the 2JZ engine's immense tuning potential. Enthusiasts and collectors prize the Twin Turbo models, especially those with the 6-speed Getrag V160 manual transmission. Unmodified, low-mileage examples have become true investment-grade assets, representing a high point for Japanese performance cars.

The market for Supras is extremely broad. While A80 Twin Turbos command six-figure prices, earlier A60 and A70 models offer a more accessible entry into Supra ownership. The current A90 generation, co-developed with BMW, has brought new buyers to the nameplate, but the A80 remains the undisputed king in the collector market, with a huge spread between project cars and pristine originals.

Prices range from $2,300 for early project cars to $400,000 for pristine A80 Twin Turbo examples.
