Porsche 956 & 962

The Porsche 956 was developed for the FIA's Group C regulations in 1982 and immediately dominated, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in its first attempt. Its successor, the 962, was adapted for IMSA's GTP class with a longer wheelbase and steel roll cage, continuing the platform's incredible success through the late 1980s. Together, the 956 and 962 won Le Mans 7 times and secured numerous championships, making them some of the most successful race cars of all time.

Collectors prize these cars for their historic significance and outright performance. Because Porsche sold cars to privateer teams, there is a large number of chassis with varied and significant race histories from teams like Joest, Kremer, and Brun. The market differentiates heavily based on provenance; a works car with a Le Mans win is valued far higher than a privateer car with a minor race history. Values have remained strong as they are eligible and competitive in premier historic racing events worldwide.
