The 356 B succeeded the 356 A in late 1959, bringing significant styling updates. The new T5 body featured raised headlights and bumpers, moving the car's appearance further from its Volkswagen roots. For 1962, Porsche introduced the T6 body with a larger rear window, an external fuel filler, and a revised engine lid with twin grilles.

Collectors value the 356 B for its blend of classic styling and improved usability.
